Lunar Glamours Guide

Starting a beauty regime based on the lunar cycle involves aligning your skincare and self-care practices with the phases of the moon. The moon is believed to affect various aspects of our lives, and incorporating lunar cycles into your beauty routine is thought to enhance the effectiveness of your skincare and overall well-being. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to start a beauty regime based on the lunar cycle:

  1. Familiarize Yourself with the Lunar Phases:

Learn about the different phases of the moon and their corresponding energies. The primary phases are the New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter, and Waning Crescent.

  1. Determine Your Intentions:

Consider your personal goals and intentions for your beauty regime. Do you want to focus on rejuvenation, purification, nourishment, or balance? Understanding your objectives will help you align specific rituals with the appropriate lunar phases.

  1. New Moon (Setting Intentions):

The New Moon is a time for new beginnings. Use this phase to set your intentions for the upcoming lunar cycle. Cleanse your space and yourself, and establish your beauty goals. Focus on skincare practices that encourage renewal and starting afresh, such as exfoliation and detoxification.

  1. Waxing Moon (Growth and Nourishment):

During the waxing phase, the moon's energy is said to support growth and nourishment. Enhance your skincare routine by incorporating products that promote hydration, rejuvenation, and cell renewal. This is an excellent time for trying new beauty treatments or experimenting with new products.

  1. Full Moon (Radiance and Illumination):

The Full Moon is associated with heightened energy and illumination. Take this opportunity to boost your radiance and glow. Opt for skincare products that provide hydration, brightening, and even skin tone. Engage in self-care practices such as face masks, facial massages, and gentle exfoliation.

  1. Waning Moon (Release and Purify):

As the moon wanes, it's a suitable time for releasing and purifying. Focus on detoxifying your skin and body. Incorporate deep cleansing rituals, gentle exfoliation, and purifying face masks. This phase is ideal for removing impurities, promoting circulation, and preparing your skin for the upcoming cycle.

  1. Last Quarter (Reflection and Recharge):

During the Last Quarter, reflect on your beauty regime's progress and recharge for the next lunar cycle. Pay attention to self-care practices that promote relaxation and inner harmony. Use this time to rest and restore your energy. Practice mindfulness, meditation, and engage in calming skincare routines.

  1. Repeat the Cycle:

Continue to follow the lunar phases and adjust your beauty regime accordingly. Observe how your skin responds to different phases and adapt your routine as necessary. Over time, you may discover patterns and preferences that work best for you.

Remember that a lunar-based beauty regime is a personal choice and not backed by scientific evidence. While it can provide a sense of connection and mindfulness, it's essential to combine it with evidence-based skincare practices for optimal results.

Astrology Based Beauty:

Astrology is often associated with various aspects of life, including beauty and health. While these associations are based on astrological beliefs and symbolism rather than scientific evidence, some people find meaning and inspiration in incorporating astrology into their beauty and health routines. Here are some general astrology-based associations:

  1. Sun Sign and Personality:

Your sun sign is the zodiac sign that the Sun was in at the time of your birth. It is often associated with your core identity and personality traits. Some individuals believe that aligning beauty and health practices with their sun sign can help enhance their natural attributes. For example, a Leo might focus on bold and confident makeup looks, while a Pisces might prefer gentle and ethereal beauty.

  1. Moon Sign and Emotional Well-Being:

Your moon sign represents your emotional self and inner world. It is believed to influence your emotional needs and reactions. Incorporating practices that support emotional well-being based on your moon sign can contribute to overall beauty and health. For example, a Cancer moon might prioritize self-care and nurturing rituals, while an Aries moon might find energizing workouts beneficial.

  1. Elemental Associations:

Astrology assigns elements (fire, earth, air, and water) to the zodiac signs. Each element represents different qualities and energies. You can explore beauty and health practices that resonate with your dominant element. For instance, earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) might focus on grounding skincare rituals, while air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) might be drawn to light and airy makeup looks.

  1. Planetary Influences:

Astrology associates different planets with specific energies and characteristics. You can align beauty and health practices with the planetary influences that resonate with you. For instance, Venus is associated with beauty, love, and sensuality, so incorporating self-care routines that emphasize pampering and self-love can be aligned with Venusian energy.

  1. Lunar Phases:

The moon's phases are believed to influence different aspects of life, including beauty and health. Some individuals choose to align their beauty and self-care practices with the moon's cycles. For example, they might focus on skincare routines during the waxing moon and use the waning moon for detoxifying or letting go of old habits.

Remember, astrology-based associations are subjective and can vary among individuals. You can explore and experiment with these associations as a way to connect with your own unique qualities and find practices that resonate with you. Ultimately, personal preferences, self-care, and individual well-being should be the guiding factors in your beauty and health routines.

Clutter & Chaos

I believe the energy in your home is affected not just by the people who live there, but also through the possessions kept and how. As in Feng Shui , energy can become blocked or drained from your home and you by the things you surround yourself with. I can become immediately overwhelmed the second I wake, just seeing a dish pile in the sink or a laundry mountain on the couch. Responsibilities I left myself the day before, knowing I would regret it and probably feel defeated before the day would begin. If I’m always cleaning, but my house is never clean, I can conclude that we have too much stuff.  We all know how severe hoarding affects people who struggle with an obsessive attachment to possessions. Yet, even on a smaller scale, too much of anything can become difficult to maintain and keep orderly. Growing up in an “over-crowded” environment made me predisposed to being extremely uncomfortable and burdened by clutter. I try my best to stay on track with routine chore...

Seasonal Cleaning: Plan, Purge, Prepare

When Autumn rolls around I tend to get nostalgic for all the cozy aesthetics and comfort of the season, eager to jump straight into my favorite lounge set and start writing out my ' Fall Food Favorites' shopping list!  But then, I catch a glimpse of the reality around me... unsigned school papers and musty laundry mountains, unwashed cookware and an over-worked sponge... this IRS notice of from my boutique flop two years ago. I can easily become lost and overwhelmed by the chaos summer fun and new school excitement left behind. Having three young children, the pressure is on. I am fully aware I will be taking on this battle alone. It's the perfect time to get my household back in order and  prepare our space to be enjoyed as we spend more chilly days inside, with each other. I'm getting into the season with a deep clean of our home and work spaces, a well as our energetic environment. 1. PLAN For me, it must ALL start with planning! I first start out  by printing...

Autumn Equinox

As cooler winds blow in and the daylight lessens, we can see the end of summer upon us. It is time to say goodbye to the solar energy that radiates over the Earth during the light half of the year. The same should be done for the energy in your home and personal spaces. The foggy and crisp part of the year brings a calmness still enough to make you confront the skeletons in your closet. Clean & Declutter Smoke cleansing and smudging are my top choice for natural cleaning. I also like to use a sage or rosemary essential oil with a simple vinegar/water solution to cleanse my surfaces and things around my home, work, and spiritual spaces. Ritual Detox Bath A deep physical cleanse of the body through a rich bath of salts and bentonite clay can pull out toxins and stagnant energy. In preparation of this introspective season exfoliate with intent to remove the dirty parts of yourself you no longer wish to carry. Purge Negative Influence If ...
